iPhone 16 series might not see many upgrades in 2024 and one of them unlikely to feature is a high-refresh screen. That’s right, new reports claim that Apple will continue to use a 60Hz screen on the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus next year when it launches.
The company seems happy to offer the standard refresh rates on its regular iPhone models, something we also saw with the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus this year. High refresh rate screens are a given when it comes to Android phones that go up to 144Hz and even 165Hz in some cases.
But as for the iPhone buyers, they spend well over Rs 70,000 and still feel content with 60Hz display panels even though the experience and technical aspects don’t matter to everyone who buys an iPhone. The report also points out that the iPhone 16 will feature a 6.12-inch Retina display while the 16 Plus will come with a bigger 6.69-inch display like its predecessors.
One of the major upgrades this year was the Dynamic Island notch coming to the vanilla and Plus iPhone 15 models and that is likely to be passed on to the iPhone 16 models as well. Having said that, some improvements are expected in the parts of a display which will most likely be revealed closer to the iPhone 16 launch event in 2024.
So, if you had decided against buying the iPhone 15 model to buy the next year’s iPhone, Apple clearly doesn’t want to give you a lot of reasons to wait, and instead you can buy the iPhone 15 itself because the features are expected to be identical between the two variants.
The other big news about the iPhone 16 series could be related to its camera tech and possible upgrades on the battery front, now that the company has fully adopted USB C charging for its models starting with the iPhone 15 series this year.
